Community Researchers

Over the next few months the Sale Moor Community Partnership in conjunction with the Trafford Partnership will be surveying local residents to establish the needs of residents in relation to services, activities, housing, environment and crime to name a few of the subjects.

We are inviting local residents to become Community Researchers and help us to develop a questionnaire and survey 500 local people by the end of the year. Open to anyone aged 16 or over this is a great chance to add a community project to your CV or to do something useful and hopefully fun for your community.

Community Researchers will interview other local residents. This could be in person or over the phone with friends and family, neighbours, in the school yard or at community events and projects. We are open to a multitude of methods and essentially what suits the Researcher’s available time.

Community Researchers will be reimbursed for any expenses they incur and all participants will be invited to a celebration meal at the end of the project. All Community Researchers will receive a certificate at the end of the project to add to their records. Community Researchers can also help with the compilation of the final report if they choose.

The project begins on
Thursday 18th October
with a short training workshop (1-1.5 hours) to help everyone involved understand how to conduct a Community Needs Assessment.

Training Workshops are at 1.30pm and 6.30pm at the Sale Moor Community Learning Centre on Norris Road.

Every Thursday from then we will meet to develop questions and monitor the project. If Thursdays are difficult for participants we will endeavor to create other opportunities at other times. We can also visit you in your home if required.
